It's been a while...

  • Mood: ANGRY!!! but also and
  • Music: Gorillaz - Last Living Souls
  • What I'm wearing today: Green vest, black cardigan, jeans, belt, tights, black shoes, jewellery

So I thought I'd better update...again. So much for updating regularly!

Anyway, a *lot* has been going on recently, this may be rather long...unless I just skim over things...hmm...

Right, well, Strictly Come Sixth Form rocked BIG TIME! Me, Em, Hayley, Caz and Jon kicked ass!!! If you'll excuse the Americanism. Yeah, we were really good, despite only rehearsing a couple of times, and the first time we performed with Jon was, er, on stage...but it went well, thank God! We decided to sing without microphones cos Vicky'd had some trouble with them before us, so we belted it out! And got a massive round of applause! Ever since then people have been coming up to us saying "Wow, I didn't know you could sing!" and saying how good it was!  The finale was the Timewarp, which me, Em, Steph, Hannah, Jenni and Vicky were in with the "senior staff", it was so fun!

Went to see Adam a few weekedns ago, it was really fun but I was ill, me, Dad and Alicia all felt/were sick on the Saturday, but were fine a couple of hours later! Was annoying but at least I wasn't ill all the time I was there.

He came to stay last weekend too, which was fun! Squee!

Can't remember much about the last few weeks, rehearsals have been getting more and more frequent, we have one tomorrow from 9.30am, which means I have to get up early. On a Sunday. Meh. Ah well, it should be quite fun, I got Em to test me on all my words today and I knew them all! Woo! Although the same can't be said for the rest of the cast...not mentioning any names though. Ah well, hopefully the realisation that it's a week on Monday til we do the first performance to an audience. I repeat. A WEEK ON MONDAY. Dear lord. At least I have my costume all done, I just need to figure out exactly what I'm doing with my hair. It should be really good (the performance I mean, not my hair you fool), as long as people focus. FOCUS! Ah too many capitals.

Was ill again last week...same kinda thing as last time, with the random pain just under the bottom of my ribs, with asthma playing up again...very annoying, specially cos I missed a rehearsal on Wednesday. I've stocked up with vitamins though, so fingers crossed they start workin soon!

Today me and Em went to Bullring in B'ham, kinda looking for Leavers Ball dresses, kinda just shopping! Was good, but very busy, and we got so pissed off on the train on the way home. There was a group of Asian (Indian, to be precise) men sitting in front of us, and a random guy from Stoke (I think) sitting on the same table as two of them. Anyway, he'd been drinking a bit, and started talking to the two guys sitting opposite him. Well, he started by holding out his hand and saying "Hi, nice to meet you, I'm not racist." Which people don't tend to say if they're not racist! So me n Em started listening a bit closer, cos it seemed a bit dodgy. So this guy started asking how long they'd been in England, and if they spoke English (?!) and about marriage and kids and work and things, which wasn't too bad, although he didn't seem to shut up...So anyway, he then kinda half closed his eyes and looked like he was about to fall asleep, so the guys in front of us started talking to each other in Indian. Which isn't a problem, is it? Well, this guy seemed to think it was. All of a sudden he snapped and started saying:
***WARNING: swearing coming up***
"Stop taking the piss, stop taking the piss out of my country, you're in fucking England, speak fucking English you cunt, it's England show a bit of respect don't take the piss out of me, stop talking about me, you cunts, you fucking four-eyed speccy cunt, yeah you, stop taking the piss, for Christ's sake, stop taking the piss, it's England, show a bit of respect."
***Swearing over***
And he carried on shouting this and he actually whacked one of the poor guys round the head and shouting down his ear. Me and Em were absolutely furious, I had to physically stop myself from shouting at him, cos the way he was I didn't want to get hit or shouted at myself. The entire coach was quiet, with just this bloke shouting in the middle of it, til some random girl - I say girl, young woman - said loudly "Excuse me, sir, could you stop that, come here please". Now I thought it was the conductor, but she was just a random girl, but she started talking to him and trying to calm him down and when we got off we overheard her saying "just cos you hate someone doesn't mean you should show it" and him saying "but I don't hate them, I don't know what happened, I'm not a nutter" and her saying "well, what you did was a bit of a nutty-man type thing to do, wasn't it?" etc. Oh, and another girl went off and told the conductor and she made sure everyone was ok when we got off. Anyway, back with the Asian guys, they were kinda quiet, but one had turned round and smiled at us before it all kicked off, and he turned round and started talking to us, and when we got off (they got off at Uttox with us), we were talking to him again, saying how unacceptable it was, and he said sorry for speaking in Indian and we were like "Don't apologise! It's him that should be apologising!". He was really nice, he was saying how some of them had only come over to visit and the rest had only been there 6 months and some of them couldn't actually speak English, and that they weren't talking about this guy anyway! Oh it makes me so angry, it's totally unacceptable. I mean, it's like beating this guy up if he went to France and didn't speak French! Totally stupid. GRAH GROWL ANNOYANCE!!! I'm still fuming and it was hours ago.

ANGER!!!

Right. I can't remember much else from the last few weeks, I can barely remember what I did yesterday! Anyway, better go and sleep...rehearsal tomorrow...I have carrot batons for lunch...fun!

Toodle pip.

Grrrrrrr. If I had been there I would have done something silly like shouting at him or turning into a tiger and eating him or something. Funny how, 'I'm not racist,' sets off as many alarm bells as, 'I am racist.'
